Greg has been fishing for 28 years and grew up fishing the Eastern Cape coast and Transkei extensively. He has fished competitively for 12 years in both the Border and Western Province league systems. After going overseas and fishing in both Western Scotland and The Lake District he settled in the Strand, Cape Town. He achieved Western Province B colours in his second year of fishing the Western Province Surf Angling Association leagues and A side colours in his third year.

Greg was beach manager for the Western Province Ladies Angling Team which competed at 2007 National Championships. He set the Western Province record for Ragged Tooth Shark in Jan 2006 with a fish of 195kg which was also the biggest fish caught in competition that year. In 2007 his biggest fish in competition were Bronze Whalers of 100kg and 133kg. In April 2007 he caught a Bronze Whaler of 227.1kg which is currently the Western Province and South African Record.

Greg is an energetic angler who is passionate about giving back to the sport of angling and is an enthusiastic member of the ORI tagging programme.
